Diesel loco 872 was delivered new to Port Lincoln on 4 March 1966, and had spent its whole working life on the Peninsula until it was sold to Rail Technical Services in 2006. It left Eyre Peninsula rails at Kimba on 1 June 2006, and after attention in Adelaide and replacement of its bogies with standard gauge ones, it has roamed the national standard gauge network. Greg O'Brien captured it at Red Hill on 11 December 2006 working an ARTC ballast train, sandwiched between South Spur Rail 1874 (a former WAGR unit) and GM37 (ex CR).

844 and 847 were transferred to the Whyalla narrow gauge network in May 2006, and have since found regular use hauling a rake of older hoppers (D class) on the Iron Duke run. They are seen above leaving Whyalla on 31 December 2006, and the same train is approaching Middleback siding below.
