Transferred from the national standard gauge network and mounted on narrow gauge bogies for the 2007-08 track upgrading project. All are modified former SGX standard gauge open wagons, identical to the later series of ELX open wagons built for the South Australian Railways and the Victorian Railways. They have gone through various recodings over the years, including AOCX and AKOX. The first three were built as SGX wagons in 1967. AKHX 78 has a more colourful heritage, being built in 1967 as FCD 55, a broad gauge skip-carrying flat for the ill-fated Chowilla Dam project. In 1970 it was transferred to standard gauge as FCDX 55, then in 1971 it was rebuilt as SGX 78.
